Welcome to the Ranch
We are blessed by God to live on the family ranch just five miles north of Miles City, Montana. Miles City is one of the most famous "cowtowns" in the world and we enjoy living where the sky is big, the people are few, and the horses are worth riding.
We returned to the ranch in 1979 following the death of my father, John W. (Johnny) Moore. Debra and I have dedicated ourselves to seeing the ranch used for God's glory and it has been a thrill to meet the people He sends us. Some people come because they have read my books and want to see the setting for themselves. Others come through divine appointment. Some stay a few hours. Others have stayed for weeks, even months.
You will learn more about the ranch and this area by reading any of my books. All of my writing is birthed from a love for this land.
It has been our privilege at the ranch to host a wide array of hunters. Prairie dog shooters come from all parts of the United States and others enjoy top quality hunting for mule deer and pronghorn antelope. Predator calling, especially for coyotes, is popular, too. In the photo is our friend Bill Johnson of Redding, California and a fine antelope he took during the '09 hunting season.
Our cat, Aslan, content in the sun's warmth on a winter day.
